Founded in 1854, Louis Vuitton is one of the world’s leading international fashion houses. The company’s founder, Louis Vuitton (1821-1892), was appointed as official Layetier (trunk maker) to the wife of Napoleon III of France, which was where he developed advanced knowledge of what made a good traveling case before starting his eponymous collection.

This Royal history continues today with impeccably crafted handbags, accessories and traveling cases that can be seen on some of the most well- heeled women and men in the world. Jennifer Lopez, Madonna, Mikhail Gorbachev, Steffi Graf, Andre Agassi, Catherine Deneuve, and Gisele Bundchen have all appeared in Louis Vuitton ads, and the company has collaborated with power-house designers like Marc Jacobs and Takashi Murakami in the development of limited edition collections.

Among celebrities such as Alicia Keys and Karl Lagerfeld, who have commissioned the brand to create custom-made pieces for them, world-renowned French master chef Eric Ripert recently commissioned the house to create a custom-made traveling case for his knives.
